Materia Nova is a R&D center, in Mons (Belgium) dedicated to new materials. The highly qualified scientific experts of Materia Nova are doing research in in polymer engineering, organic chemistry, surface treatments, biomaterials and biotechnology. Materia Nova also has a high-performance Analysis and Characterization Unit as well as an eco-friendly approach of innovation through its Life Cycle Thinking Unit. Materia Nova offers partnership to companies for their R&D projects and facilitates the technological transfer from the academic to the industrial world. The CIDETEC institute for Surface Engineering is a reference institute and the main thrust of an innovation pole specialising in the development of these technologies, providing surface solutions throughout the entire value chain for the automotive, aerospace, power generation and other sectors. The institute counts with a building with 4,000 m2 dedicated to laboratories and pilot plants.

PMMH (Physique et Mécanique des Milieux Hétérogènes) is a joint lab associating ESPCI-PSL, CNRS, Sorbonne University and University of Paris. MSC (Matière et Systèmes Complexes) is a multidisciplinary research unit, associated to Paris university and CNRS, the main fundamental research organizations in Europe, largely involved in national, European, and international projects covering all fields of knowledge. The laboratory involves more than 160 researchers, mostly physicists devoted to the study of soft matter physics at the interface of physics, chemistry, biology and medicine. Role in the project : MSC will be in charge with rheology, adhesion and physico-chemistry of hemolymph on surfaces.
